Dog Day Out

A Dog Day Out is a special program that gives our adoptable dogs a much-needed break from the shelter and a chance to experience the world beyond our walls. Volunteers and fosters take a dog out for the day to enjoy simple adventures like visiting a local festival, strolling through a farmers market, relaxing at a restaurant with outdoor seating, or exploring dog-friendly stores and parks.

Not only does this give the dogs valuable enrichment, exercise, and socialization, but it also helps them relax and show off their true personalities outside the shelter environment. These outings provide wonderful opportunities for the community to meet adoptable dogs in everyday settings—and sometimes, they even lead to forever homes!

Whether it’s a walk around town, a cozy café visit, or a day spent soaking up new sights and smells, a Dog Day Out makes a big difference in the lives of our pups waiting for their families.
